Aaralyn Torreira, Marriage and Family Therapist Intern

My name is Aaralyn Torreira, and I am a Marriage and Family Intern at Path to Renewal Therapy Services. I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Southern Connecticut State University, where I also obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I am interested in working with individuals experiencing relationship difficulties, family conflict, trauma, or anxiety.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and strength-based, while creating a safe and confidential space for clients. I believe every client to be unique; thus, therapy should be tailored to fit your needs and experiences. I believe therapy to be a place to help understand and navigate your difficulties while recognizing the strengths you possess as a person to assist in your growth, while supplying tools to help assist in this journey.

My preferred treatment methods include Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy, all with family system approaches. In these methods, I remain collaborative, while creating a supportive environment to ensure you feel heard and seen, as you make your steps towards progress. My approach in these treatment methods is respectful and empathetic to remain considerate of your challenges in life as well as your therapeutic and personal goals.

That first step can be intimidating and hard, especially if this is your first look into mental health. No matter where you are in life, it is never too late to start, and no matter what the complexity, we can work together to take the first steps together. I look forward to working with you!
